Casino Hotels

Four Canadian casino hotels, described as hotels first.

Four hotels · Québec · Ontario · British Columbia

These are big properties. Each one has guest rooms, dining, entertainment venues and a licensed gaming floor under the same roof or on the same site.

We write about them the way we write about any hotel: location, building, rooms and what is nearby. The gaming floor is one feature among several, and you can stay without visiting it.

Casino hotels — chips, gold bars and gaming imagery
  1. Montreal Casino & Hotel

    Montréal, Québec, Canada

Île Notre-Dame, in the middle of the Saint Lawrence, is home to this property. Its main building was once the French pavilion at Expo 67, and that sharp, ribbed outline still defines it.

Parkland surrounds the site. Parc Jean-Drapeau, the Biosphère and the island’s cycling paths are close, while the old city sits across the water.

Inside you find restaurants, bars and a cabaret stage. The gaming floor runs over several levels of the former pavilion.

  2. Fallsview Casino Resort

    Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

Height is everything here. The hotel tower stands on the ridge above the falls, and higher rooms look straight down toward the Horseshoe Falls and the gorge.

The resort is self-contained. A spa, a large theatre for touring acts, a shopping concourse and many restaurants are linked indoors, which matters in a Niagara winter.

Gaming takes up one big hall within the complex. Most visitors also spend time on the river path and at the falls themselves.

  3. River Rock Casino Resort

    Richmond, British Columbia, Canada

Vancouver International Airport is close, and that shapes how the place is used. A Canada Line station next door connects to downtown Vancouver without a car.

The hotel sits on the Fraser River. Its show theatre hosts concerts and comedy, and there is a marina on the waterfront.

Gaming has its own floor within the resort. Richmond’s famous food streets are a short trip away, which gives a stay here plenty to do beyond the property.

  4. Casino Rama Resort

    Rama, Ontario, Canada

Lake country is the setting. The resort stands near Orillia, between Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe, on the lands of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation.

A hotel tower, a spa and an entertainment centre for large concerts make up much of the site. Several restaurants cover different budgets.

The gaming floor is one part of a broad resort. Summer adds boating, beaches and small lakeside towns to the reasons for coming.
